For #LibertyOpenCall, LIBERTY OF LONDON launched a mission to uncover the UK’s next big artistic talent – inviting artists, designers and creators to upload their work to Instagram for a chance to have it transformed into an exclusive limited-edition Liberty fabric. After a public vote and over 5,000 submissions, the LIBERTY OF LONDON buyers chose four final winners – Catherine Rowe, Emma Hill, Duncan Grant and Natasha Coverdale.
#LibertyOpenCall winner Duncan Grant’s print is one of his “smalltown” ink designs, drawing inspiration from the homes and billowing chimneys of Grant’s childhood in Gravesend. Born out of a doodling style, the design features a world that is by turns childlike, slightly abstract and colourfully simplified.
